PEOPLE PARADE
POSTED BY J. WILSON 6.17.10 / 7:31PM

For those of you who notice, we have been on a brief hiatus from the website for a couple of months now. Aside from updating our blog, we have been hard at work on an ogre of a film that we're proud to call "People Parade." Following the final episode of a public access variety show, "People Parade" is our personal eulogy to all those hours spent watching something without ever really knowing how it was made. We just completed our first weekend of principal photography and should wrap production near the end of June. Although it may be devouring most of our mental, physical, and sexual energy, we're excited to be working on such a personal project with so many healthy, able bodied, like minded people. More than anything, It keeps us busy.

Come on down.

TUMBLOR MACHINE
POSTED BY J. WILSON 4.22.10 / 8:38PM

As our website begins to look less and less like a blog, our blog will begin to look more and more like itself. We just launched our own Tumblr, which will act as a repository for unfinished work, unused goods, lost, found, and unseen material. We are excited about this new venue, as it will allow us to update more frequently with less restrictions on content and classification.

POSTED BY J. WILSON 2.12.10 / 11:30PM

Have You Seen My Hair has officially been selected for the narrative shorts competition at the 2010 South By Southwest Film Festival! We would like to thank our friends, our fans, and baby Jesus Christ up in Heaven for all his inspiration. The winner of this competition is also eligible for the 2010 Academy Awards, so we'll keep you posted! In the meantime, take a look at "etc." to see how to force your friend into getting a new phone number.

Happy Birthday, Ted.

POTATO POWER
POSTED BY J. WILSON 1.30.10 / 6:17PM

As the temperature continues to drop, so does our incentive to go outside. As a result, we've been hosting a series of "Show & Tell" nights at Future Machine headquarters, where anyone can participate by presenting a 3 minute report on any topic of their choosing. Below is a short film we put together to better inform our guests on how to "go green" in 2010, along with a new photo series from John's first football game.

OIL GIRLS
POSTED BY C. MAGGIO 1.24.10 / 10:38PM

The only advice I received from a Texas native upon arriving in Houston was to visit a real "chopped and screwed" neighborhood Southwest of the city. After an hour bus ride, I found myself in Sharpstown, TX. Much to my chagrin, there were no cowboys in this region.

TEXAS!
POSTED BY C. MAGGIO 1.10.10 / 11:45PM

The Future Machine was just featured on a popular internet blog known as The Art of the Title. Check out the article here. Also, Have You Seen My Hair will be featured at this year's Best of Open Screen, held on January 21st at the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, Mass. Bring your brothers, bosses, and anyone else with a healthy hunger for independent cinema. Click on the images below to view our Eastern misconception of Midwestern culture.

SANTA JE T'AIME
POSTED BY J.WILSON 12.23.09 / 12:25AM

This Christmas, The Future Machine asked Santa Klaus for a bounty of cameras, toys, and construction tools. Sadly, the only thing Santa could fit in his sleigh was a tape measurer for John, some coal for Kevin, and a case of gingivitis for Chris. Click on the images below to view a couple of films we found in our stockings a few days early.

FLUTIE FLAKES
POSTED BY J.WILSON 11.20.09 / 11:37PM

There has been a lot of commotion in the Future Machine offices over the past month. Samantha got a new jacket, John got a new comforter, and Chris got braces. We just finished our trans-continental interview concerning the Stranger Exchange for a book called "What's Mine Is Yours" by Rachel Botsman. The book explores issues of collaborative consumtion and is set to be published by Harper Collins in the year 2010. John just finished coding the website for his side project entitled "The Pen Camera." Check out the new website here. We also have two new additions to the "etc" section of the website: a series of photos by Chris Maggio and a voyeuristic account of Doug Flutie watching one of our films.

Will he finish?

THE STRANGER EXCHANGE

POSTED BY J.WILSON 10.25.09 / 10:14PM

If you happen to be walking down Massachusetts Avenue at some point in the near future, please take a minute to stop over at The Stranger Exchange, our first experiment in social expectation. Designed out of an old newspaper bin, The Stranger Exchange is a unit especially designed for the exchanging of books, movies, photographs, letters, souveniers, and anything else you can get your hands on. Think of it as a "Leave a Penny, Take a Penny" for all your personal belongings. Click on the image below to view the project's website, specifically designed to create a dialogue between strangers and exchangers.

THE BIRTHDAY MACHINE

POSTED BY J.WILSON 10.14.09 / 12:39AM

As the fall scrapes its autumnal claw across the east coast, there have been a lot of exciting passings: John passed his road test, Derek passed some gas, and Chris passed away. In the midst of all this news, the Machine has managed to produce some new content, specifically intended for some of our closest friends, by our closest friends. Please enjoy a selection of birthday messages, accompanied by a small summation of Chris's trip to the "Sunshine State."

Happy Birthday.

AMERICA, WILD

POSTED BY J.WILSON 10.1.09 / 4:45PM

Wild America is a collection of home movies and photographs taken during my summer vacation across the United States of America. Although these images may represent a modest account of a larger place, this is what I thought America looked like and this is how I would like to remember it.

HAVE YOU SEEN MY HAIR?
POSTED BY J.WILSON 9.28.09 / 10:05PM

Last night was the grossly successful premiere of our newest short film done in collaboration with I Soci Salon. We would like to extend our deepest, darkest thanks to all those who made this massive undertaking possible and hope to work with all of you again soon. Without your help, these images would have never bled beyond the margins of our Moleskines. Please click on the images below to view our new film, "Have You Seen My Hair?"

Play it loud.
